Who we are
Typerino is made by Anxious Media, LLC. When this policy says "we," "us," or "our," it means Anxious Media, LLC.
What we collect
Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo. We use this to create and manage your Typerino account.
Subscription and billing. Payments are handled by Stripe, our Merchant of Record. Stripe collects your payment details directly, so we never see your card number. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status so we know whether your account is active.
Usage analytics. We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage data — things like which features are popular, how often the app is opened, error rates, and performance timings (so we can tell when something gets slow). This data is tied to a randomly generated ID, not your identity. PostHog never receives keystrokes, document content, or anything you type into the app. You can opt out of analytics entirely in Settings.
Email and crash reports. When the app sends you account email (welcome message, billing notices) it goes through Resend, our email delivery provider. When the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, a stack trace and app/OS version go to Sentry so we can fix it. Neither service receives your documents or anything you type into the app.
Contact form messages. If you write to us through the contact form on this site, we store the email address, subject, and message you submit, along with a one-way hash of your IP address (for rate limiting) and your country from network metadata. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to detect automated submissions before the form is accepted. Your message is delivered to our inbox via Resend. We use this only to read and reply to you.
What we don't collect
We never collect, transmit, or store your documents. Your writing lives on your machine and, if you choose, in your own cloud storage (Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud). We have no access to any of it.
No AI processing of your work. Your documents, scripts, and anything you write inside Typerino are never transmitted to any AI service. We don't use AI to read, analyze, summarize, or generate content from your writing.
How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account
- To manage your subscription and free trial
- To understand how the app is used so we can improve it
- To diagnose bugs and crashes
- To send you important account notices (billing issues, service changes)
Who we share it with
Stripe processes your payments and handles tax compliance as our Merchant of Record. They have their own privacy policy .
PostHog processes anonymous analytics data. We use it to see which features people actually use and where the app breaks, so we know what to fix and build next. You can opt out in Settings.
What we don't do with it
- We don't sell it.
- We don't share it with advertisers.
- We don't use it to train AI models.
Where your data is stored
Account and subscription data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure in the United States. Analytics data is processed by PostHog, transactional email by Resend, and crash reports by Sentry — all in the United States.
Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active.
If you cancel your subscription but leave your account in place, we retain your account data for 90 days in case you resubscribe, then delete it.
If you delete your account in Settings, we remove your account record, profile, and subscription data right away. Stripe, our Merchant of Record, retains payment and invoice records for 7 years to meet tax, accounting, and anti-fraud obligations. That data is held under Stripe's privacy policy , not ours.
When you delete your account, we keep a one-way hashed record of the account email and (if applicable) payment-card fingerprint for up to 2 years. We use it to make sure the 14-day trial clock is anchored to an email rather than to an account: if you sign up again with the same email, you pick up where the original trial left off rather than starting a fresh one. The hashed form does not include your actual email, profile data, or any document content.
Analytics data is retained in aggregate form and cannot be linked back to you.
Your choices
- Opt out of analytics in Settings at any time
- Delete your account in Settings → Account & Billing. Your account record and subscription data are removed right away. You can choose to delete now or at the end of your current billing period.
- Export your data — your documents are already on your computer in standard formats
Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases under Article 6:
- Contract (Art 6(1)(b)): account creation, sign-in, subscription management, and trial enforcement — we cannot provide the service without these.
- Legitimate interests (Art 6(1)(f)) — analytics: aggregate, pseudonymised product analytics to improve Typerino. You can opt out at any time in Settings.
- Legitimate interests (Art 6(1)(f)) — fraud prevention: we retain a one-way hash of your account email and, where applicable, payment-card fingerprint for up to 2 years to anchor the 14-day free trial fairly and prevent trial-cycling abuse.
- Legal obligation (Art 6(1)(c)): tax, accounting, and anti-fraud records associated with payments processed by Stripe.
Your rights (EEA/UK users)
Under the GDPR (Articles 13–22) you have the right to access your personal data, correct it, request its deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, and receive a portable copy. To exercise any of these rights, and we'll respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO at ico.org.uk).
Sub-processors
We use the following processors to run Typerino:
- Cloudflare — account database, edge compute, and DNS (United States).
- Stripe — payments and Merchant of Record. See Stripe's privacy policy .
- PostHog — anonymous product analytics (United States). Opt out in Settings.
- Resend — transactional email delivery (welcome message, account and billing notices). United States.
- Sentry — crash and error telemetry from the desktop app, used to diagnose and fix bugs. United States.
- Cloudflare — hosts our backend (Workers, D1) and runs Turnstile, the anti-bot check on our public web forms. Cloudflare receives request metadata (IP, user-agent, country) from visits to our website and API. United States.
- Google and Apple — sign-in providers when you choose them.
Children's privacy
Typerino is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, please contact us and we'll delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email before they take effect.
